May 29, 2008 – Finally a war the envirowackos can get behind?

Think this guy’s excited about the earth-friendly bomb?

Good news for tree huggers and assorted envirowackos! Scientists in Germany are developing environmetally friendly bombs. Yay!

“In initial experiments, G2ZT and HBT produced fewer toxic byproducts than common explosives. Still, they did generate some dangerous hydrogen cyanide gas. But mixing these compounds with oxidizers not only avoids making hydrogen cyanide, but also improved performance, Klapötke said.”

Nice, but kind of a waste. It’s not as though we’re going to be able to conduct any kind of military operation whereby people who are so sensitive as to think “OH, LOOK AT THAT BOMB WE’RE DROPPING ON IRAN! IT WOULD ALL BE SO PERFECT, IF IT WASN’T FOR THE FACT THAT IT’S NOT RECYCLABLE!” are going to be on board now that the bomb’s biodegradable.

Their problem isn’t that it’s not “earth friendly” – it’s more the fact that it’s called a “bomb”. Maybe if we remarketed this environmentally friendly bomb to call it a “Cheetolay”, it would remind them of their two favourite snack foods that mom buys them when they’re high on weed, and it would make them feel better about the whole deal.

Already, today’s bombs are so precise that we’re avoiding so much of the civilian carnage of past wars. Still, the anti-war crowd is totally unappreciative of these efforts. They still hate bombs. You just can’t win with these people – despite the high tech developments in defence research.

They don’t even grasp how utterly stupid they’re being on the strategic front: If today’s brand of anti-war liberals had been around during World War II, we would have heard things like, “Why are we over there in Europe picking on the poor GERMANS when it was JAPAN that attacked us? Roosevelt is just out to settle a personal vendetta because Hitler picked on his daddy, or something.”

We took care of Japan, and then moved on to finish off the Germans (just like we’re doing now post-9/11 in going after the Taliban in Afghanistan, then al-Qaeda in Iraq).

Oh, and we also unstrapped a couple of A-bombs onto Japan – and didn’t really care how “environmentally friendly” or indiscriminate they were. And just look how well behaved the Japanese are today! It seems to have done the trick.

Today, we’re WAY nicer about war – and no one on the left really appreciates the effort. As far as they’re concerned, we can never be nice enough when it comes to people who want us dead. If we ever get around to giving Iran its just desserts, there’s still going to be bitching – even if we only stick to taking out the military installations with bombs full of organic roses and hypoallergenic perfume.

  1. Cherry Bomb coffee in Toronto Canada is organic, fair trade and guaranteed to please both Neo-cons and Liberals alike!

Instead of real wars, I’d like to see nations duke it out in MMORPG’s! Winner takes all the intellectual talent of the nation.
